Gabe is sitting on the couch, rocking it at single-player Mario when Cheyenne comes out of their room, tucking her phone into her pocket. “Alright, Gabe, I’ll be back later!” She calls, grabbing her bag from the counter, pausing to kiss him on the cheek. He turns his head at the last second, her kiss landing on his lips.
“Where you goin’?” He asks, pausing his game and turning around.
Cheyenne smiles, blushing. “Me’n the girls are having a show-night. We’re all meeting at Nicole’s.”
Gabe nods. “Tell the BroTPrincesses I said hi.” He says, snapping his fingers. A lollipop hovers in front of Cheyenne. “Don’t forget your sweets.” He says, smiling. Cheyenne laughs, snagging the candy out of the air.
“Don’t set the apartment on fire, Gabe. I’ll be back around eleven.” she calls. Gabe huffs, turning back to his game.
“Gabe, I’m back!” Cheyenne calls, locking the door behind her. Her eyes raise to the living room, and she stops. “Gabe, did you seriously turn our entire apartment in a blanket fort?”
Gabe sticks his head out of the fort, hair sticking out at odd angles from static electricity. “Not the whole apartment.” He says, “The bathroom is blanket free, and so’s the kitchen.”
Cheyenne snorts, peering down the hallway. Yup, blankets everywhere. Jeeze, did he stick those in with thumbtacks? “Why the blanket fort?” She asks, kneeling to enter the fort. She tries to ignore Gabe’s lecherous grin as he lets her get ahead of him.
"Just felt like making a blanket fort."
"Making a mess, you mean."
She curves toward the living room, popping up through the TV-watching hole Gabe left. She yawns, and Gabe appears beside her, pulling her against him.
“Sleep, Chey. I know crying at Doctor Who and your shows wears you out.” Cheyenne laughs quietly, more of an amused huff of air, but curls against his chest gratefully.
He presses a kiss against her hair. “Love you, Chey.”
