I've always been curious as to why there's such in difference with how idols are treated compared to actors. I mean, I've sort of rationalized it as comparing Johnny Depp with Justin Bieber. But it still feels strange to me. Don't the really popular idols help bring recognition to Korea? Why are idols considered plastic monsters with even the slightest change in appearance and actors gods?
That's a good comparison. It's because in the past, idols haven't exactly been terribly talented in any sense... something that's sadly true for a lot of performers today.
