For some reason the first Jack Baker fight took place at an isolated gas station, which was actually really cool, because what a creepy setting that could be. You could run in and out of the building itself and into the parking lot, which was surrounded by forest and only one road out, and of course it was at night so very desolate and lonely. I think the idea was that if you won the fight, you could have time to steal a car and escape, though no idea how that would work with the rest of the game but whatever it's a dream.

Ethan was even more feral than usual, and the writing for him has sort of been like he's already gone through the experiences of the games? Like more of a groundhog day reboot thing. But anyway he was absolutely Done with everything right off the bat and so you could use absolutely wild weapons and strategies, like taking a spare blade from a buzzsaw and killing Jack with it by hand. Very cool fight sequences.
