In the last New Year's scene they're debating about the phrase "should old acquaintance be forgot," and despite their mishearing "auld" they get the point. Because it's about old friends.

When Harry Met Sally at the end when they kiss and Harry IMMEDIATELY starts asking stupid questions and debating trivial stuff about the song playing like they used to do before their fight because they are friends AND lovers now and he’s been DYING to talk to her about literally anything and it’s like a dam has been broken and it gets me EVERY TIME
Sally immediately jumping in too, confirming she’s forgiven him completely and indulging in his silly debate because she’s his friend first, they’ve been friends for a long time and this is the way they enjoy each other’s presence !!!!
