I keep forgetting if there’s actually a coherent timeline in terms of years stated in VnC so I just keep looking at the real life incidents it references and getting an idea from there
#logxx#Paracelsus was active during the 16th century so we know that's when vampires were created#The Beast of Gévaudan incident took place during the latter half of the 18th century#So that's... nearly a 200 year gap for the War to take place in with no exact timeline :|#Also unclear how much was an actual war and how much was just... various racial conflicts over time#We know there WAS a War there is a specific event referred to as a war#And we know it ended a few decades before the Beast of Gévaudan incident#It's unclear when for example Vanitas of the Blue Moon was born#Tho given the explanation surrounding their birth / the fact their prosecution would've necessitated an extant vampire culture#It can be assumed they were one among the first vampires#They were Probably born before the War tho given we're led to believe Ruthven's lost eye was somehow related to Malnomen#Ok wait... the Beast of Gévaudan Incident would've taken place over a century before the events of the story#(Which we know begin in Spring of 1889- not stated outright but bc of real events referenced)#And Chloé was definitely contacted by Naenia#Which could mean...#The three things I can think of#Are that A. Naenia manifested before Faustina's body died#B. There have been multiple Naenias#C. the Vampire aristocracy have been concealing Faustina's death for over a century#I don't actually think it can be the last one tho given it seems to be implied Luca personally knew Faustina prior to her 'death'#And while Luca doesn't have a specific canon age he is clearly very young chronologically#Hmmm....
