okay i’m just going to write short summaries of all my original comics ideas i have rn to brain dump them. also i think it would be neat to have them documented here and look back to see if i’ve made any progress on developing them or working on pitch decks. or to see them updated etc. very into reflection and progress.
heart warm/heart worm - vampire erotica, kill your rapist buffy but bipoc vibes, suspense & horror. chinese vampire + eco + body horror. ideally camp elements but u can’t do camp on purpose so~ (TBH working on this bloody sexy vampire choso piece has been helping me figure out the visual language for this ???) i am done the outline and scripting and character design/vis dev in progress ! the protag can’t stop encountering death to the point of a near death experience too! but all of their problems are just in their head or whatevah!!! (what’s scarier? gaslighting or vampires !!!)
starless ocean - mechs are secret weapons mirroring cold war scare (nuclear paranoia) exhibiting western hypocrisy and secret ops in the global south. one of secret ops, a teenage gorl human experiment, develops amnesia when she crashes into a small town and befriends a group of teens. they think she’s an alien and she must reconcile w imperial crimes as she regains her memories, experiences remorse, and enters personhood. i’ve done soooo many character designs, i am fearful of designing mechs, and i just keep writing and writing outlines and getting stuck! it’s been put on hold…complex fiction is a bit too much for my brain! eureka 7 meets iron giant meets wretched of the earth by franz fanon sndbsnansnfjfb (the psychological analysis of colonization…) plus the power of friendship and GREAT chinese food. i think this might be better after i’ve completed smaller works…like it’s def a world building thing
flood (working title) - friends in their early 20s navigate adulthood while processing various traumas and hurts. an exploration of love and companionship, all characters at their core desire love (as bell hooks describes it) and to be understood, although they all have fundamentally different ideas of what that means for them! they are all “creatives” but life really gets in the way and “life” continues regardless of wants and needs. <- the ai yazawa-ification and fuyumi soryo-ification of my work (aka i have been drawing all the characters dressing very cool) very exciting to play around w blurring dreams and reality…

Story #3 Getting to the last SWIR anniversary show and then Home from NJ that one time. (Long story)
So we were making good time until we hit Ohio. The bus was packed and technically if you got off of the bus for a break you could lose your spot. Let me start out by saying that people were already mad. Like there was a lady yelling on her phone and the bus driver was telling everyone the rules. Somehow there was a guy who got off of the bus and I never saw him come back and there was a guy that was sitting next to him and he was lounging in the seat next to him. The driver was saying that if someone was doing something illegal that we would stay in Ohio and he would call the police and it was worrying because people were on the floor and there was a woman sitting on her sister’s lap and then she moved onto the steps. We made a stop in Cleveland and we literally stayed there for for a while. There was a bird in the station and people were cooking food and there was lady who asked about who ordered a burger or something. We finally left the station after we got another driver and we were on our way to NJ but wait we couldn’t get through the turnpike so that took a while we were going in circles. There was a weight problem with the bus and it was madness. We ended up making it NJ morning of the show. Check in the hotel around 12 and we still had to get to the venue soon for the pop up shop........
We get to the venue during the pop up time and I was spaced out and people started talking and I thought they were talking to a shelf but it turns out that Jack was back there having a conversation with them and after that we ended up waiting in line but it was confusing because regular line was really close to the m+g line. We chated with others For a bit and then it was time for the show. There was a small argument over someone not taking their antlers off. Tall 🦒 in the way and some people using me as a post to keep from falling and after the show was over we had a little time to sleep and then we had to pack by afternoon and wait for the Uber to take us back to the station and we were so far out from the city the Uber drivers kept calling and asking us where we were trying to go and they thought that we were talking about New York. The drives kept dropping off and then it was really close to time for our bus to board and we made it to the station by jumping out of the Uber and running to the doors but we almost got run over by a bus. We were rushing through the station dropping things and then we get to the line and there are 2 buses going back home. We ended up on the right bus and then we head back to Cleveland (OH NO) we were told that we would have to wait for a driver and then they canceled the bus until the drivers were ready because they had to sleep. There was driver who said that she was ready and willing but they told her no so we were back in the station in Cleveland with the birds and this time they were serving pizza for free as a sorry 😐. So then once we were actually on the way home our driver said that she was told to stop in a different city than our original one but that wasn’t a problem but my dad ended up picking us up from downtown.
