I'm going through the journals of 14-year-old me for a book I'm working on and found the point in my life where the idea to become a nonfiction writer really took root within me. I remember reading this book and something happening inside me. Looks like I'll have to read it again. I have so much love and compassion for young Jo. And for my own kids.
