In which Chris says he wants the AA bloggers to “leave Andy alone,” and characterizes the response to the FAQ as “swift and immediate vitriol and violence.”

I am not aware of any AA bloggers who are in contact with Andy in any way, so I’m not sure precisely what leaving him alone would entail. But then I missed the ”vitriol and violence” and its connection to the AA bloggers as well.

So the “Andrew Blake FAQ” (and one of the individuals behind it) is insistent that Andy has left fandom behind.

But Andy is plotting themed dinners and angling to meet the CR cast, and he’s done CR fanart. So it looks a lot like the “he even gave his costumes away!” thing had more to do with changing fandoms than leaving fandom.

It’s difficult to believe this crap is being posted without Andy’s awareness and tacit support.

But if he’s serious about this he needs to shut down the victim-blaming and the “Andy was underage” crap.

I mean, I’ll be honest: I don’t understand what went on between Andy and Abbey back in the day, either. But I don’t think he was an innocent pure unknowing elf-faker and she was an entirely adult responsible blameworthy grown-up, because there’s what? a four year difference in their ages? Come the fuck on, people.
