@Regranned from @officialpaisleypark - This week in 2014 marked a major period in @prince history; the simultaneous release of two anticipated albums (his debut full-length album with 3RDEYEGIRL, PLECTRUMELECTRUM, and his solo record ART OFFICIAL AGE) and came amidst a swirl of activity with @donnagrantis , @hannahwelton2 and @idanielsenbass of 3RDEYEGIRL. To celebrate the dual album release, Prince hosted a special concert event at Paisley Park that was broadcast to the world via a @yahoo livestream, and invited special guests @livwarfield and @kendricklamar to join 3RDEYEGIRL for a historic jam. Kendrick Lamar's appearance, especially, came as a surprise to everyone in attendance and watching the stream, and their fiery collaboration on the Crystal Ball deep cut "What's My Name" would soon light up the entire internet. Lamar was visiting Paisley Park hoping to collaborate with Prince on a track for his own new album, the Grammy-winning To Pimp a Butterfly, but he later shared that he and Prince ended up spending most of their time together talking instead of recording. “Prince heard the record, loved the record and the concept of the record got us to talking," Lamar would tell Hot 97. "We just ran out of time, it’s as simple as that.” It was also on September 30, 2014, that Prince hosted his one and only fan Q&A on his official @facebook page, which garnered over 4,000 questions from followers around the world. Prince would only answer one question, however; when asked about the importance of "all music being tuned to 432hz sound frequencies," he simply replied with the words "The Gold Standard" (also the name of one of his songs from Art Official Age) and linked to a page with more information about audio frequencies. Shortly after, the official Facebook page was deleted. Classic Prince. #Prince #PaisleyPark #3RDEYEGIRL #DonnaGrantis #HannahWelton #IdaNielsen #WhatIsPLECTRUMELECTRUM?
