I know a lot of people would say “if you’re questioning it there is your answer” but I grew up in a conservative Christian home so I didn’t find out much about the LGBTQ+ until I started working at 18. Now it’s like I’m trying to discover what it means for me to be asexual while learning all these other sexualities. Also, like 90% of my coworkers are LGBTQ+ and it’s a running joke you’re assumed gay until proven straight. It took two years for people to realize I was straight. But like now that has me going, wait, am I?

Oops I did it again

Do you unconsciously choose how to react? Absolutely, at times. How you react or respond to any words spoken to you is always your choice. Even though we don’t want to admit it, it’s true. It’s like this. If I was to yell, scream and cuss at you in a foreign language and you not understand a word I said, how upset would you get. I guess you could interpret my expressions but you still wouldn’t understand what was said. But if I did the same thing in a language you understand then the possibility of you getting mad or upset have dramatically increased. Why?? Because your thoughts have taken the words that you understand and created a state in which you think you understand and now feel like you are under attack from the meanings you have place to those words. We do this every day!! We don’t have to place a meaning to any words if we so choose. We can allow the words to disappear in the wind as fast as they were expelled towards us. We can choose to allow them to be foreign and not have any meaning to us at all. If our Ego is not allowed to think for us. We put the meaning to every word and action that happens around us. We don’t have to assign any meaning to anything if we choose not to. This is our choice. Be mindful on how we decide to interpret anything that happens around us. We know that assumptions and interpretations can be very influential when it comes to choosing false or painful emotions from how we think. Be mindful of the energy you attach to any word spoken to you. That is your power. No word has a right to make you feel any way unless you give it the right or the power to. You allowed it consciously or unconsciously. Still your choice.
