anyways he always lived in Atlas, born in old honeysuckle and lived there till he was 6 and their house burned down, and they moved to the U district to be closer to the university since his mom is a linguistics professor

The fire was a major life event for Jules. He was trapped in his room and thankfully saved by the fire fighters but not before he got a lot of smoke in his lungs and he got a few burns. He had to spend sometime in the hospital but he recovered pretty well. The only long lasting physical effects are that he developed asthma and still has some scars from his burns. Psychologically he has some PTSD from it, mostly causing semi-regular night terrors obviously more frequent when he’s stressed and also major claustrophobia.

He also couldn’t really talk without it hurting for about a month and that combined with the trauma made him really shy which was a big contrast to before, always having an easy time making friends with anyone. And this road block took years to get past, now he’s super easy going and social and charming and can make friends with almost anyone on the spot

But during those years he got really into art and writing and absolutely fell in love with it and eventually decided that’s what he wanted to pursue as a career.

Jules is an art school drop out, he just couldn’t deal with being told what art to make and how to make it

luckily he was able to get a job at a gallery, obvi not putting out his own art but just helping with whatever they needed and he loves being able to network and just be around art

BACKGROUND

born and raised in atlas city. his family has been one of the oldest families in town, they’re old money as well. let’s just say adrien’s dad was the town mayor a few years ago and all that. they probably own a big ass classic house downtown and a mansion in bayside. 

growing up, adrien had a pretty sweet childhood. even with his parents constantly arguing, his grandparents always made sure he was happy, spoiling him and giving him the attention his parents never did. honestly, adrien is amazed they haven’t filed for divorce, but he knows it’s probably just to keep the facade of the perfect politician’s family. also, probably has an older sister (gotta send in that wc).

on his senior year, he met a beautiful girl and fell in love with her (another wc i need to send skdkld). they were a perfect couple, the actual definition of high school sweethearts. and honestly, his parents were very happy that adrien seemed to be straight (he has been struggling with defining his sexuality pretty much forever). ANYWAYS, this girl and adrien dated for about two years until she got knocked up. at first, they were vv happy about the whole thing, but they were basically children playing house and the girl left after a couple months of their son being born.

NOW LET’S TALK ABOUT LEO. baby leo is adrien’s son and basically his whole world. and even though, raising a one year old toddler  is TIRING AS FUCK, adrien won’t have it any other way. he eventually gets help from friends and family, but most of the time, adrien is surrounded by diapers, toys and all kinds of baby stuff. and honestly? FATHER OF THE YEAR. idk how the fuck he does it, he doesn’t know either, but he is one hell of a good father to his baby boy.

went to university to study cinema, ‘cause he wanted to get into the business of filmmaking. however, he had to drop out last semester, when the mom of leo left them so he could take care of his son full time. so currently, he’s living out of mommy and daddy’s money.

he knows that his current living situation is not ideal, but his son needs him the most right now so he feels he should be there for him. he just keeps telling himself that he’ll try to get his life back on track when leo is a couple years older.

BACKGROUND

 harlow grew up everywhere and nowhere all at once -- her father does international banking and investment while her mom is a famous actress/model who was always traveling for shoots so she stayed with her dad more often than not. but even he moved around a ton so she lived all over the world - milan, seoul, tokyo, sydney, paris. you name it. most of her childhood was spent being homeschooled by her nanny and chasing after her brother in their new hometowns.

around when she turned 14, her dad bought a family house in atlas city along the bay. her and her brother jason were able to finally put down roots in a city and make friends that they could actually keep. this is when she first met adrien, possibly her first best friend beyond her brother.

she went through high school and just kept her walls up -- figuring it was easier since it was only a matter of time before their dad decided to move them again. 

when jason went on to college (university of kyoto), harlow was absolutely crushed because he left her behind and she didn’t have anyone left in atlas city. she begged her dad to move them back to japan, but she was stuck in atlas city.

while traveling and moving around so much, harlow fell in love with food. she’s eaten so much street food, it’s insane. each place they lived, their father would hire a cook to keep the kids alive and they would each teach harlow how to cook in their local styles. this would inspire everything she would cook.

when she graduated high school, she didn’t go to college, but instead managed to get a job at a michelin star restaurant that gave her the training she would need to crack the food scene. during this time, she was living with adrien and she found herself falling in love -- something she didn’t expect at all. but he was her best friend and knew her better than anyone so everything made sense. so when she got pregnant, she was unbearably happy.

but then work became more demanding and she found herself missing out on both leo and adrien’s lives and that filled her with so much guilt and dread. rather than just continuing to hurt them, she decided it was best to remove herself from the equation entirely and moved to france to complete her formal culinary training.

now she’s back in atlas city to be close to her son. she opened a casual bakery/brunch/cafe place called beacon last year and it’s extremely successful. her donuts? insane. try the honeycomb one. but this year she has opened a more formal, fancy restaurant called hearth in the orchard district. she’s also looking to open a pizza place with roger so keep an eye out!

end of the day, harlow is a little competitive, mean, sharp, and cold. but she’s fiercely protective and passionate about what she does. sometimes you can spot the crack in her armor when she lets herself relax and be free.

Shannon has always been far too competitive and stubborn for her own good. She’s gone to incredible lengths to prove herself to other people, primarily when they’ve told her she couldn’t do something. Although this mostly applies to personal or career endeavors, she’s been known to embarrass herself or be spontaneous merely for the sake of proving someone wrong. 

Shannon’s father left her mother when she was incredibly young. They are close, but they’ve interacted less since she moved to Atlas City. She’s a bit more a realist than her mother, likely because she witnessed her mother’s lack of emotional and financial stability growing up. Because of this, she values materialistic possessions a bit more than most people.

She takes a huge amount of pride and happiness in being stable, and possibly some of the most fulfilling moments in her life have been when she has been able to sacrifice something for someone else.
