Hi there, my George birb is currently clipped--thanks to the former owner. :-( However, I plan on keeping him flighted once his primaries come back in. What are things I can do with him now to help prepare him for being flighted? I searched through your posts and found a few things like target and recall training, but are there other things as well? The previous owner unfortunately clipped every single one of George's primary flight feathers, so he doesn't get any lift at all right now.

Ways to strengthen/ prep flight:
Uneven surfaces, piles of toys, hanging toys to get him practicing balance and using his wings to balance or flap around
Short distance recall/ stationing just getting him to hop to you to start strengthening muscles and figuring out positioning/ balance
Floor recall, getting him to walk to you to strengthen the recall concept
Walking or jogging quickly with the bird so they learn to adjust their weight and balance, some may begin to spread their wings for balance
Place perches distant enough that the bird may jump from one to the other to improve landing and balance
