Hi! I'm currently learning Dutch, but I'm having a bit of a hard time learning the pronunciation of: 's. Would you mind telling me how to pronounce it? Thank you!
Hey! As faras I’m aware (full disclaimer: I’m a beginner myself), ‘s is pronounced the same way as s which sounds prettymuch the same as in English (like in son), and just like the ‘s in it’s, theDutch ’s isn’t pronounced differently than a “normal” one either (no matter if it’sstanding on its own as in ‘s ochtends or is “connected” to the noun as in auto’s).
Also if you are looking for resources on Dutch pronunciation, dutchgrammar.com has quite an extensive section on that with lots of audio examples here. I also found this site pretty helpful, it’s a bit linguistics heavy though and doesn’t provide any audio.
