Love is rarely a choice. (For Glinda)
@westfae
Elphie is not wrong, as far as having a far clearer-sighted vision. 'Wrong' is not a word that could ever be put upon the Elphaba; the green woman is and always will be sharper and far more brave than the strawberry blonde could dream of. Glinda knows she has no spine, least of all about Miss Thropp.
Instead, all the wannabe saint can do is shake her head and try to feign disinterest. The latter at which she fails, trying not to laugh as a coquette might, Glinda replies, "Depending upon one's definition, as with goodness and evil, it is never a choice. If you believe that philosophers, it is a matter of fate. But I know you'd object to such a thing. Fate. Certainly, love, if earnest, is a most blinding of distractions."
