Sooooo I wrote an origin story for Captain Hook? ⚔️ 🤺 I found some of my old art from 2019 and felt like I needed to get back into my old fandom. I was THRILLED when I realised I could connect my current fandom (David Copperfield) with Peter Pan 😭🥹🩷

The man offered a slight, but polite smile as he nodded in confirmation, glancing at the grinder before beginning to step back toward the door. "Thank you for the thorough explanation, Miss…?"

"…Wendy," she said softly, smiling slightly at him with a nod. "Anytime, Mister…?"

The man's lips quirked up a bit more. He bowed his head to her, saying smoothly, "James Stewart. Have a lovely day, Miss Wendy."

Wendy blinked again in surprise, still considerably caught off guard by how polite the man was, given how stern he could obviously be to whoever crossed him. She blushed a bit pinker, nodding back and managing a soft, "You as well, Mister Stewart. Thank you."

Mister Stewart's piercing eyes looked her over - and for a moment, Wendy was all too aware of her casual work outfit in the face of his intimidating corporate ensemble. But before she could hide her silly blue jumper behind the height of the espresso machine, Mister Stewart's phone rang again - and he turned, taking another long sip of his coffee as he tapped his earpiece with his hand, saying with that same stern confidence from before, "I'm listening."

Wendy…Grew Up?!🧚‍♀️

I recolored🎨 Wendy’s mother to look more like Wendy✨ herself! Plus an adorable baby🍼 Jane, Wendy’s daughter from the sequel🎥 Return to Neverland🌈

I had watched Baggage Claim’s video of how “Andrei - Is he a fake Alpha?” and started thinking. In the original story by J.M. Barrie Peter Pan has a very commanding presence and voice. His Lost Boy’s do rely on him for leadership and safety, even Slightly admitted he wanted Peter back from visiting the main land. Peter isn’t perfect but that is where Wendy comes in.

I again think back to Ashley and that horrible published fanfiction I hated. Then thought, Ashley is NOT an alpha female. She only wanted to be bossy, meaning she wanted Wendy’s authority in the group. For the Lost Boys to do as she said but never really held her end of the bargain. Wendy is an Alpha Female, she helps lead this group. She challenges Peter when he is wrong and Peter can rest assure that his group is cared for when he goes off on his own personal adventures. They aren’t left without a leader. In return I guess Peter did give Wendy protection and security. So they co captained and each held their end of the bargain. Making it a happy home in Neverland. 

Makes me think with Wendy’s femininity and her title is called “mother”, that people look down on her. Most of the time they want to do the “not like other girls” trope and it is rather annoying. 

Another story in which a girl and boy played “parent roles” to a bunch of other kids has to be Maximum Ride and Fang. Who were the alpha’s in their kid group.

Finished my Peter & Wendy painting a couple days ago but forgot to post it 😅
