Transition II by ↟ ↟ ↟ ↟ ↟ ↟ ↟ ↟ ↟ ↟ ↟ ↟ This image was taken using a Canon 70D and Sigma Art 18-35mm F1.8 lens. At the time this was a decent entry level combination - for someone wanting sharp images with some 'zoom' capability. As it turned out - almost all of my early photos (including this one) was shot at the 35mm end. This equates to 56mm on a full frame camera - which is my absolute favourite focal length for woodland photography. It just looks and feels right. It provides emphasis where it’s needed - but also maintains the context of the setting. I used manual mode and placed focus midway up the foreground tree. F5.6 was selected to create the look I was after - sharp foreground with a soft roll off into the mist... The RAW file was prepared in Lightroom CC using ‘Enhanced Details’ and minimal adjustments to contrast, exposure, sharpness and white balance. Colour grading, which is an important aspect of my workflow was undertaken in DXO Labs FilmPack V5. So today turned out quite unexpectedly different! It went from back to Back classes and PT sessions and predicted rain to having an afternoon off with the husband in the sun! So Wendover woods provided an afternoon of entertainment and exercise before picking the little one up from school. So the first BML event is happening this sat the 19th at 10.15am - 10k obstacle course run. If anyone would like to come and spectate feel free, I’ve been told it’s a right muddy, messy but very fun race!
