Thomas had been feeling not-quite-right ever since he and his brothers had had that argument over Isidore talking to the humans. He couldn't remember ever fighting with his brothers before. They certainly had...but he couldn't remember it, which only left him feeling worse. What if they never got along again? He had to fix this. And step one on his mission to fix it was to talk to Weldon.
He didn't think his brother was a cold-blooded killer or anything...but he had seemed pretty serious about fighting the humans if they leaked anything. Thomas needed to make sure that wasn't going to happen. He hardly wanted to see anyone get hurt, after all. Even if the humans could endanger them all and possibly drive hippocampi to extinction if word were to get out.
He was a bit stressed.
So, he made his way to the inn days after their argument. He did his best to avoid any human on the way, just in case. Wasn't Renzie responsible for the inn? Weldon might have new problems if Renzie were to find out the connection between Weldon and Isidore. Thomas grimaced, reminded anew that he'd caused this. If he'd just stayed away from Steph...
He knocked on the door, a hurried, urgent sound. "Weldon?" he called through the door. "Are you around?" Damn, maybe he should have texted first.
