On this review page, something I do enjoy is the weird animes that may fall under the radar. Well not anymore, apparently a live-action of this storyline is being released as a trailer is already out. Anyhow: Do you like K-pop Idols? Maybe a gang fight too? Then Back Street Girls- Gokudolls is the anime for you. A little summary: Three men under the direction of Yakuza are made to become female Kpop Idols as a ploy for money. You heard that correctly. They aren’t just dressing up but sent to get actual surgery and go into extensive training to still be the perfect idol. This anime approaches this peculiar situation by the three cute girls with the mind of gang members. It’s a little startling when their inner dialogue isn’t as cute as their regular voice but in loud male voices. Quite comedic. There is also a drastic change in the view of the villain as the boss seemed cruel and actually probably insane, in the end, he just likes K-pop and becomes their biggest fan of all. I truly only enjoyed this anime because who in their right mind came up with this. I found myself laughing at the jarring humor and split scenes though it was pretty childish and- crazy. Honestly, I recommend everyone to watch it for themselves if they can handle it.  Just because. 5/10 cherries, I was surprised Netflix, very surprised. I hope to see more bizarre content in the future and yes I did watch this anime all the way through. I hope to read the manga and see the live-action movie.
