Ah, Washington: evergreens, coffee, rock, and rain.
Blurb for Jeff Davis and Al Eufrasio’s Weird Washington: Your Travel Guide to Washington’s Local Legends and Best Kept Secrets (2008).
FRIDAY FAST TIP: A Book For Finding Weird Things
Hey, all! My family recently finished vacation and driving is always the pits to me. I like seeing the new sights, but the actual driving of the vehicle snoozes me out. Self-driving cars are coming, right?
Anyhow, in an effort to break up long stretches of a drive it's always fun to spot weird roadside attractions or historical points of interest. One book we've used is Weird California, which has companion books for many states and even a comprehensive Weird U.S. edition (see the website as well at www.weirdus.com). It has a lot of awesome suggestions and historical facts to go along with it. Some of the things we've seen are:
The Cabazon Dinosaurs
Zzyzx
Bubblegum Alley
So, the next time you are on vacation, travelling, or just plain bored crack open one of these books and find something weird near you!
Have a good one...
Noah (theramblingark)
Was telling a co-worker about Coral Castle today. Man, I love that place. So weird, so cool.

I've been browsing here and there and saw many funny pictures about our current situation here in the northern part of the Philippines. I've read a lot of comments particularly from the foreigners. Many are some what mad saying we are insensitive and doesn't care about others who are being drowned but still there are some who happens to be very surprised. As a third world country, we cannot let this thing drag us down. It's not that we are used to it but being optimistic is all that we can do. Unlike the rich countries around us, that has big ships, helicopters and high-tech rescue packs, here in our beloved country we only have our HUMOR, EACH OTHER AND PRAYER. That is why despite the fact the we still have so many flaws I'm still proud being one this Filipinos and embraces being weird.
Random fact: my uncle is one of the creators of Weird NJ/US/all the other states.
