Mid-semester assessment Art installation My site-specific art installation is a combination of what I learnt during week 1, 3 and 4. In week 1 thought me the appreciation of art and how every content in art has a meaningful behind it. Sometimes someone would look at an artwork and feel blank because they lack the appreciation of art and meaning. Looking at Stewart Scamler artwork during week 3 was memorial because I knew for my final art installation I wanted to apply something like his work. For my art installation, I had a vase which was made in Iraq where I come from. The vase is my grandmother’s which makes it old and valuable. The vase was my focus because it meant a lot to me and my family. In the vase, I placed stick that I pick up from week 4 derive to represent my walk and my mapping. Putting everything all together from all 3 weeks was enjoyable. I had pictures that I have taken on my camera of all my family member and all extend family. I use white tape to stick everything together because the white tape is what I used to represent my 10x10 ‘No-Place’. When I finished my final artwork, I place it in the centre on my ‘No-Place’ to make it the centre o attention and to allow it to be more meaningful.

Zine in progress

During this week, I decided to check all the post for tumblr that I have not finished and to finish off my assessment. Creating my final Zine has been explorational, experimental and enjoyable. I took my time thinking about what I wanted to do the zine about and how it connected to my ‘No-Space’ but once I had I clear idea I jump right in. Making something I love in the end felt rewarding. Week 6 covered Conversation as Form and contained reading about Allison Carruth work. I believe that many artist have a great impact on the world through their artworks and photography. Art is all around us in daily life, therefore an artist can impact the world and the views through their work. Art is powerful, meaningful and life experienced which allows it to be influencing in many ways such as; socially, emotionally, spiritually and personal. When artist create a master piece they should be presenting a statement with meaning and influence to capture and hook the audience to create a voice for the work represented.
