In the pantheon of all-time great cartoonists in comics history, Will Eisner is probably at the top of my list. Not far behind, along with Basil Wolverton, Jack Davis and Harvey Kurtzman, is Jack Cole.
He committed suicide at forty-three, so never realized all of his potential, and was already focused on PLAYBOY cartoons as much as anything, but he left behind a large body of crazy imaginative kinetic work (not the least of which was the creation of Plastic Man).
