Three Moon Fiber Works in Chesterton, IN, Or I Always Wanted To....
That lively bright fuchsia scarf is the current project of a woman in her 80s who had always wanted to learn how to weave and finally got the chance. Apparently, she has been weaving up a storm every since. Three Moon Fiber Works has classes in weaving and spinning and dyeing, plus workshops in various fiber arts, and lastly studio use and membership so that you can use their looms and tools and space to weave, spin and dye. Plus a library of books to use there on site.
They also sell yarn including these brilliantly colored skein prepared for warps that you can see on that picture of the loom in a mix of purples and red, and hanging on one of the racks in purple and blue, or turquoise and blue. These are nestled among hand-spun and hand-dyed yarns from local makers and there is a wall of cones of yarn in a rainbow of colors for both weaving and knitting. You can also buy items via their website.
