How I bring an old curl wig back to life and
Girls night out Outfit!
And now, a friendly PSA from your trusted weavologist, Fashion.
Hi I'm just now starting to use weave and I have no Idea what to do with it. I need help and I'm 16 years old and a cheerleader. PLEASE HELP ME.
Hello, weaves are pretty easy to maintain as long as you take care of the hair properly. 1. Make sure you wash your hair while in the weave at least once a week. This will help promote hair growth and keep your weave hair looking good. Since you're active, as a cheerleader, washing your hair is vital. All the sweat and oils that build up can leave your weave looking greasy and can also clog the pores on your scalp constricting proper hair growth. 2. Make sure your hair is properly dried. Using a handheld blow dryer is often the best way to get in between the tracks to dry your natural hair. 3. Wrap your hair in a silk scarf before going to bed. To avoid tangling and/or matting of the weave hair, make sure your hair is wrapped at night or whenever you lay down for a long period of time. Wrapping the hair also helps to maintain a consistent style. These are some key steps to maintaining a weave/extensions, other than that just make sure you find the right color & texture so your hair blends with the weave. Hope this helps :)
Patting Your Weave
An obvious sign a girl is wearing a weave, is when you see her patting her head. Most weave-wearers will have an itchy scalp or hair discomfort. In order to get to the problem, women tend to pat their weave. While there is nothing wrong with patting your hair in private, I must say, doing so in public is slightly inappropriate. It is a distracting, unappealing and embarrassing habit that must be abolished. Chances are if you are experiencing a high level of discomfort, it is time to wash your hair, apply oil to your scalp, or remove the tracks. See “‘Pat Your weave Ladies’: How to Fight the Itch” for other ways to ensure that you don’t always have to scratch.
