Tarkin had his desk chair pushed just far enough back to allow Orson enough space to sit on his lap. Articles of clothing were already beginning to drop onto the floor, but not enough yet to be wholly indecent on their own.

“Director Krennic,

“Deena,” he leaned against the door to her office. He didn’t usually bother her here at work workplace, not if he could help it. But he was here on business, unfortunately, and he would prefer to keep that kind of talk here. “I need to talk to you about your latest piece. There were some.. factual inaccuracies,” code for information that shouldn’t have been published. “That need to be addressed. Is now a good time?”

"Orson?” Deena remarked in surprise, looking up from her datpad. The fact that whatever it was that had been transmitted warranted Krennic’s personal attention set her on edge. Why come to me directly? Why not file for a retraction with legal?  “I always have time for you.” She said cheerily, gesturing him inside, and surreptitiously cancelling her next engagement from her datapad’s calendar.

Standing, she walked over to the environment control panel and selected privacy mode. There was a satisfying clunk as the door seal engaged, holoprojectors and holodisplays going dark.

“Ok, let’s see what we have.” Deena said, inserting a holodisk into and loading up her latest piece on the desk HoloTank. She recoiled in confusion, shaking her head.

The gala was frivolous in the Grand Moff’s mind, but of course he was obliged to attend whether he felt particularly inclined to or not. One hand was gingerly on the director’s waist and other firmly on his shoulder. A source expression seemed super glued on his face.

Wilhuff huffed a heavy sigh, his breath creating a large cloud before him which soon vanished into the rest of the cold air. They had been short on supplies since the beginning (the blame could be placed in a plethora of places), and nothing would be able to be done until the morning.

He laid back down, though he knew that he would not be getting any sleep -- he was too on edge. However, it seemed like all the combined stressors had the complete opposite effect on the weapons director, who was fast asleep beside him, curled up in the single thin blanket.

Arms crossed over his chest, Tarkin looked over at Krennic for a moment before casting his gaze directly above him. He was beginning to shiver. Several silent moments passed when he heard the other man shift, followed soon after by Orson unceremoniously flopping an arm over the other and then snuggling up against him.

“I have already slept more than enough.” The Grand Moff scoffed, sliding his feet into his slippers. He stood and stretched, joints crackling and popping, and then yawned with a roll of his shoulders. This was late for him -- not only did his work load make it that he needed to get up well before the natural or synthetic light of day, but he also greatly enjoyed the soft blanket of silence that time of day allowed him. It gave him time to focus and center himself before dealing with others.
