Bend, Oregon: Day 4
Spring Break: March 12, 2019
We had a great second day on the worksite! In the morning, we finished shoveling the snow on the sides and front of the two houses. In the afternoon, we began breaking up ice in order to dig holes and dig a 6 in. deep trench where we will place river-rocks and plant a tree tomorrow. We enjoyed breaking the snow up with pickaxes and melting the snow with a blowtorch. After 10 hours of shoveling snow and being physically tired, we are still determined to complete the landscaping by Friday. For our fun activity, we stopped at the last Blockbuster in the world, as of last week, to relive our childhood memories. Yes, Blockbuster has DVDs. We also spent time walking around the Old Mill District, which was formerly two lumber mills. We ended the day with Taco Tuesday for dinner!
