every season, one lucky debuntante is selected as the season's incomparable, the diamond that any eligible suitors should desire to have and hold by the end of their time in the ton. the introduction of the esteemed ladies to the queen herself marks the official start of the season and, though this is the most important part of the day, the queen holds a celebration as well, a garden party to allow mingling and introductions between her jewels and the suitors. though there is quite the audience from these very suitors, doting mothers, esteemed gentlemen, and more, it is only the queen's eye that matters. a glimmer of displeasure and a young lady's value plummets to unthinkable depths. the opposite may well be true as well, but as we know, the brighter a lady shines, the faster she may burn.
