The shots sitting in front of her were calling her name as she knocked them back. In the back of her mind Sol knew that the bartender would be cutting her off soon at her rate but she didn’t care. She didn’t want to care about anything. It had been 2 months now since Sol had given her dad the money. While yes she was making plenty, more than she ever imagined she would make as a kid, it was a majority of her savings. He had promised he would call and visit. He had spouted bullshit about wanting a relationship with Sol and wanting to keep in contact. Sol felt pathetic. She was so desperate to have her dad back in her life that she believed him. She had tried calling and texting but to no avail. He had shut the door and Sol was running out of energy trying to bang on the door to be let in. Sol had her face in her hands when someone sat next to her. “Wanna drink with me? Better than alone.” Which was why Sol didn’t want to be home to drink.
