My #StenocactusMulticostatusZacatecasensis (AKA #StenocactusZacatecasensis) was doing the thing again last week. This year the needles at the top are kind of smooshing the flowers in so they’re not quite as showy, which is kind of a bummer but oh well. I don’t think this subspecies/species has a common name. The genus is called #braincactus or #wavecactus.
