oh,  for  fuck’s  sake.  not  him,   anyone  but  him.  maeve  finds  her  luck  diminishing  more  and  more  as  the  time  passes.   if  she’s  going  to  be  stuck  down  her  with  him,  the  least  she  can  do  is  pretend  he’s  not  there.  and  so  she  does.   she  absently  inspects  her  nails,  picking  at  the  chipped  polish  as  she  continues  to  ignore  him. 

“  you  might  want  to  go  easy  on  the  tequila.  ”    it’s  meant  with  the  best  intentions.   callie  doesn’t  mean  any  harm  by  it.   if  anything,  she’s  tempted  to  join  her  with  all  that’s  going  on  around them.   that  tells  her   that  it  isn’t  the  best  idea,  but  a  last  resort  should  it  become  too  much.   “  no  one  know’s  how  long  we’re  going  to  be  down  here  yet.  better  to  save  it,  you  know  ?  ”

 perched  on  a  booth  in  a  club    —   a  demon  habit  or  well  ,  for  just  about  anyone  needing  a  night  filled  with  good  old  sins  being  created .  clear  disdain  for  the  people  surrounding  her  were  written  across  not  so  delicate  features  ,  moving  her  bottom  jaw  in  frustration .  what  needed  to  happen  was  letting  off  steam ;  violence  ,   a  specialty .  “  you . ”  calling out , leaning forward as elbows pressed against bended knees while clearly eyeing someone  ,  “  you seem angry , I like that . ”

“  it’s  not  as  sturdy  as  it  looks.  ”   maeve  responds,   surveying  the  area  as  she  rids  her  hands  of  any  extra  grease  by  wiping  them  on  a  old  rag.  in  this  hypothetical  situation  hayden’s  brought  to  light,  all  the  tools  might  come  in  handy,  but  there  would  have  to  be  one  hell  of  a  barricade.    “  you  should’ve  seen  it  after  the  storm.  it  used  to  look  a  lot  better.  ”   but  it  was  still  standing,   maeve  had  to  give  it  that.   the  damage  could’ve  been  much   worse.

“ᴛᴇᴄʜɴɪᴄᴀʟʟʏ ⁠—” blue started, excuse at the ready. “i wasn’t sleeping. that was a prolonged blink.” one that resulted in a bit of drool, she noticed as her hand went to wipe the sleep out of her eyes. but who could blame blue for dozing off? a stake-out wasn’t all the films made them out to be. she thought they’d be snacking on burgers while snapping some photos. an hour or two max. instead they were ducked down, staring out the window, and just waiting. a skill blue does not possess.

𝙝𝙚𝙧  𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣  𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙥𝙝𝙨  𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤  one  that  is  colored  with  confusion  ,  already  reaching  out  for  her  hand  .  rue  knew  how  she  felt  about  her  ,  or  at  least  she  thought  she  did  .  “  rue  ,  don’t  say  that  .  ”  jules  allows  her  gaze  to  meet  rue’s  ,  eyes  burning  with  a  sort  of  fierce  intensity  that  she  only  reserved  for  moments  like  these  .  her  hands  grips  her  best  friend’s  tightly  ,  grip  becoming  tighter  as  the  seconds  passed  .  “  you  are  my  best  friend  and  the  most  important  person  in  my  life  .  you  know  that  .  ”

“I likely did at one point...I’ve lived long enough, that’s for certain. But I simply can’t recall any specifics.”

“As far as I’m aware, not at all,” Aziraphale answered, furrowing his brow as he wondered where such an absurd idea could have ever come from. Had he done something especially notorious lately without realizing it?  “Unless you consider the preservation of literary materials at all important. Then I may be of some service.”
