Watch The Tapes || Gideon and Tilden
It wasn’t his idea - he wanted that written down, recorded somewhere for posterity’s sake. It seemed like a calamitously bad idea from the moment it came out of the younger man’s mouth, but no amount of persuasion could allay his dedication to the plan. It didn’t matter that Gideon was no Casanova, no master of seduction. It didn’t matter that each of then surely individually had better things to do than cruise the bars, hoping to encounter members of the opposite sex. None of it mattered - at least, seemingly not to Tilden. From where he stood, the only way that this night was going to end was with one or both of them ridiculously inebriated, possibly with the lasting impression of a lady’s palm and fingers etched across the tender skin of their faces.
As he approached the tube stop that the pair were supposed to meet at, Gideon reminded himself that this entire situation should be taken as a compliment. He’d found that since joining Aversio, the young man had taken quite a shining to him for reasons that were entirely beyond him. Gideon hadn’t done anything particularly noteworthy since getting to know the boy, though perhaps that was the point. What in his mind was completely routine may have seemed somehow unique to the other man’s view. Still, though the thought of having someone look up to him with such enthusiasm was a completely new experience and one that he wasn’t sure how to take. The majority of people seemed to tolerate Gideon’s often exuberant presence and while some may have even actively enjoyed having him around, none found themselves looking at the twin as a hero. He grinned inwardly, buoyed by the thought, as the roar of a commuter train sent a gust of wind to sweep his hair aside.
“Oi, Tilden!” He shouted, seeing the lad begin to make his way down the stairs. He motioned for the dark-haired man to stay put while he stuffed his hands deep into his pockets and jogged casually between the muggles that crowded the platform. Approaching the stairs, Gideon hopped up the steps two at a time until he came to a rest beside his younger friend, clapping him on the shoulder as enthusiastically as he could muster. “There you are! Was beginning to think that you were going to leave me stranded all night. Find the place alright, mate?”
