The thing about manga Vash is that he's full to the brim with anger about his circumstances and how he's treated and he still chooses to save as many lives as possible because he can and it's the right thing to do
Nightow coming up with Wolfwood's signature weapon
Vash the Stampede has canonically worked food service. I need everyone to remember this
I've been thinking about trans woman egg Vash again and how I really, genuinely think it's a plausible reading of the text.
The main thing that brought me here is Vash's fundamental discomfort with his own body, both in being embarrassed about how it looks and his fear of it being dangerous. Which obviously are already explained by other factors in the text, but still lend him more easily to a transfem reading than a transmasc one, imo
Like... Vash is hot and powerful and he doesn't particularly take any pride in this! That doesn't read as someone who has happily taken initiative to shape his own body to be as masculine as it is!
CW for talk about incest and sexual assault below the cut.

Experimental Vashwood fan mix where you just listen to “A Pearl” by Mitski on repeat until you can’t stand it anymore
Choosing to believe that Knives was the one who decided Midvalley's title as Gung-Ho Gun would be "the Hornfreak." Just forcing this guy to work for him and then adding insult to injury
A not-entirely-serious thought I keep having about Of the Devil is that a lot of murder mysteries have an autistic-coded detective, but the specific way Of the Devil talks about what makes someone sufficiently human makes it a murder mystery about being autistic
It's about all sorts of things, of course, but the discussion of having to pretend to be human and specifically learning how to act like a human in ways other people find acceptable from watching movies resonated with me on an autistic level
And like. Serra being jealous of Morgan's ability to do being human because Morgan is so socially keen vs Morgan feeling alienated by Serra's compassion and the way Serra sees caring about others as essential in a way that isn't how Morgan experiences things
And just... the way Serra's brain is built in the same way as a human's, just out of different materials and is Undeniably a Person in so many ways, but is immediately understood to be Not Human and treated accordingly. The way that resonates with implicit bias against autistic people because of the ways we move and sound different in ways that non-autistic people pick up on and prejudiced against, even without knowing what it is they're picking up on
This is fully my personal reading and not me trying to speak to authorial intent and there are definitely other ways to read the humanity conversation and everything about Serra, but this has been bouncing around my head
