people were used to seeing xander’s angry side, the warrior that put a tough face for the public. tristan wasn’t used to that though, at least not while they were in the camp. he knew that the man had a soft spot. with what daith had told him recently too, he was worried about what was going on. the archer found the demigod of war and brought him a couple of lamb chops with mashed potatoes, offering it up to the other. “hey x, i was wondering if we could talk a little bit.” he wouldn’t share what the other was worried about him, but he could at least see where the man’s head was. “with everything coming up, i wanted to come in and check where your head is at. if you’re missing anything or needed something.” 

so after, he went searching for the son of war. he didn’t have to look too far, most of the demigods kept close to the beach and the resort, not wanting to stray too far in case something else decided to show its ugly head. he approaches cautiously, hands in his pockets, shoulders hunched, eyes toward the ground. “hey,” he begins, trailing off. “how’re you doing after...all of that?” he doesn’t know what else to say, for now, but his voice and his face show genuine concern for the son of ares. 

---- “SO, come here often ? “ keaton joked, sitting next to the table of food with his arms behind his back and holding his head. the demigod was taking a break from running back and forth to the kitchen after sleepless nights of cooking and baking. this was his attempt at talking to people. “ just kidding.”

AFTER THIS TRIAL HE DEFINITELY CONSIDERED HIMSELF HOPEFUL. yet a part of that was starting to slip away because every time he had acted on said hope things didn’t work out the way that he wanted them to. tristan found himself actually meditating up on the tree whenever he managed to sneak away from the others for a couple of hours. that ended up helping him out quite a lot. after running into xander he smiled a bit, remember how the other had helped him relax. “i know i can’t offer you another hot tub around here, but you’re not tense or anything right?” he’d find a way to make the war demigod relax, just returning the favor as best as he could. “that volcano... everything we’ve been through... i can understand what it’s like to be pent up over it. the trees have helped me believe it or not, sleeping on something so hard, but i think it’s time i join civilization again. what better way to join it than making sure you’re relaxed?”

     ❝  hands are used for both DESTRUCTION and LOVE. they could be use to rile someone up or soothe all of their worries away. on some level they know what RAGE feels like. how it can be both cold and hot at the same TIME. yet they still choose to bare teeth in order to SMILE, to wrap hands around someone in order to bring JOY. that’s what POWER really is.  ❞     /     XANDER ( @warscn ) & TRISTAN
