Thereâs stunned silence as the shorter, purple-haired Saiyan regards her former regent. A mix of emotions well up in her, none of them any bit good. Fear, anger, frustration. More anger followed by more fear. Here she was, trying to start out a new life, something that she could actually enjoy, and right in front of her was this reminder of who she had been forced to be, who she was expected to be: a brutal, Saiyan warrior.
âYouâre alive.âÂ
The words are said plainly, with as much detached emotion as she can muster. Her tail curls around her waist, her eyes glance away, not to look directly at him. Thereâs a hesitation in her as she struggles not to defer to him, not to back down, but this wasnât just some general she would be defying.Â
This was the King. The person who caused the notorious uprising that incited the Tuffle-Saiyan war. The war that she lost what would have been childhood friends in.
But standing against him, would it be wise? Sure, she had an out, a way to get back to Toki Toki City easily, but would there be this fear, this constant nagging, if she didnât confront him now...? That, somehow, he would find a way to drag her back into his Army, his force. The short-lived Saiyan world ruled by him, that was boorish and hateful and little more than peons, muscles-for-hire, for Frieza.
She tries to not let her emotions show as she succumbs to her fear; getting down on one knee, head bowed, arm across her chest in the Saiyan salute. Her other fist touching the ground as she held position. Better to play it safe than sorry; she couldnât win against the Saiyan King at her current power level. He had a history of violence, ruthlessness... and while she was not as kind as other Saiyans like Gine, she still had a strong preference to avoid becoming embroiled in his world again.
Thereâs another moment of hesitation, as sheâs never actually been before the King like this before. As a soldier, perhaps, one of the thousands that were alive after the Tuffle-Saiyan war at the time, but never in direct audience with him. Should she acknowledge the rudeness of her first words to him, or should she wait until he acknowledged her first?
Nerves take ahold of her. Though she feels ashamed for bowing before him at the moment, she speaks again, eyes closed as the shame and frustration of her position reddens her face. âMy... My apologies, King Vegeta! I was not aware...â and she lowers her voice, realizing that she had been unintentionally shouting. Thereâs a sorrowful note, as though all her hopes had been dashed of leaving this brutish lifestyle for a better one. â....of your return.â
