She pulled herself up a little further onto the pier, resting her arms on the planks and looking up at Mic with a little more sincerity. “Seems to me like you’ve got a perfect opportunity to learn, don’t you think?”

“Oh, no, that’s okay. It was probably an accident. I just wanted to make sure you were alright. How are you feeling now? Can you sit up okay?”

“What’s that word for when you both get somethin’ on a barter, just not everything? ‘Cause I could do that, on your car--use all the good parts and some better parts and make something actually chrome out of it.”

Some of the kids Peter had played with the night before told him that a nasty old witch lived at this end of the street, so naturally, he had to investigate. The house sure looked like the sort of place where a witch would live, and anyone else might have been scared. He wasn’t, of course, and to prove it, he started playing his pipes. Loudly. Right on the front lawn.

[ fun fact, not only do I headcanon Hiei as asexual, but I also think that    his concept of affection is so fucked up that he doesn’t understand how    to relate to people if it’s not a competition. you want to be friends with    Hiei? you must fight him first to prove that you are both worthy of his time    and invested enough to keep pestering him. eventually he experiences    enough genuine friendships and matures enough to understand that it    doesn’t have to be that way, but honestly where’s the fun in that????

           “So ----” She’s not that good when it comes to TEACHING, and honestly, she’s not even sure that this is something Mic even needs to be taught, but nevertheless -- “Have you ever heard of Macharomancy? It’s like -- divination but with knives.” Seemed right up her alley, anyway. 

And if this was a friend of Hiei’s, Kurama was certain they were dangerous.

Still, there was no particular note of fear in his tone,  nor any particular emotion upon his features as he assessed the creature.  His interest and curiosity merely stretched into the want to find out how useful she could be to him,  to the cause.  First things first.  He set his hand into his hips,  head cocking.  “ What are you supposed to be, then? “
