If you're still doing the hatchetfield things:
Ethan and hat
Ethan loved his hat. He got it when he was 10 years old, and a nice lady named Ms. Holloway gave it to him to help with his nightmares. It was super cool looking with a rad nighthawk and said Hatchetfield Nighthawks which his dad said was the mascot of the high school, which is where all the cool older kids go.
Ethan liked to carry the hat with him at all times, not just at night to help with the nightmares. It was one of the few things he didn’t get rid of over the years as he grew up. Despite the fact that he stopped believing in the whole, “As long as you have this hat, nothing can harm you” bs years ago, he still keeps it with him, since it’s become a sort of comfort item to him.
He always makes sure to never leave the garage without it either on his head or hidden in his jacket.
But, since he didn’t really believe in the hat’s magic, he didn’t think there’d be a problem in giving it to Hannah for a couple of hours. It’d be fine right? Calm Hannah down, sell the doll after Lex’s shift, then good-bye Hatchetfield, hello Cali. Easy.
Except it’s not.
Except this is the one time he doesn’t have his hat, and he only makes that connection as his ghost is being dragged away by a smirking man clad in denim.
