I was using a little bit of hyperbole, but not much. Actual verbatim lines from these campfire singalongs do include “Bow down before him”, “make my life a sweet offering unto you”, and “Jesus shall return again to judge the living and the dead! He will usher in the age to come!” Good times.

Yeah I think this is what’s really bothering me about it. People seem eager for Jasper to get a redemption arc and I get it you like the Big Orange One and you want her to be Not Evil Anymore but like... the writers are doing something awesome and important here by actually depicting a character’s recovery from an abusive relationship and it would be irresponsible of them at this point to rush a Jasper redemption. You can’t just toss Lapis’ abuser back into her life and make her say “hey it’s all good all’s well that ends well let’s be friends”. That would be a hundred different flavors of Not Okay. The Malachite aftermath arc needs to be handled carefully and the writers know that, and part of that is acknowledging that Jasper is dangerous and wrong and unequivocally the villain here and it bugs me that so many people want to gloss over that because She’s Hot and Cool.

Oh man wasn’t she awesome?! Plus the way she’s handled all the assholes coming at her on Twitter is nothing short of perfection, she’s the greatest. I know everybody gushes about Holtzmann so I’ll just keep it brief and say they were ALL RIGHT but also oh my god Kevin. I had such high hopes for the concept of a Dumb Blonde Receptionist role reversal and they were all exceeded. Everybody did such a great job, man that was a fun movie.
