Jan Zimblis would you like to pick up Mason's Warrior Painting today?! I love to paint for the kids in my community, bringing them love from quite literally next door. How I met Jan, is proof that God sends me Warriors to paint for. One day a FedEx truck pulled up with a box from Chewy.com. Normally, in my experience, people receiving parcels that aren't for them just keep them, if you remember the week before Christmas my father sent us a $200 Christmas tree and the city was wrong, but just five minutes away. They kept the tree, the Christmas Bell, and made no attempt to do the right thing, and then there's others who return the item, or people like me who realize this is food for her animals and she's maybe four doors down. So, I took to Facebook, found her, and she picked up her dog food. She was so sweet, she posted about it, impressed that I have dogs that could've used it, but it didn't belong to me and Life is full of moments to be a good human being. Since, Jan and I remained Facebook friends and as I scrolled through my newsfeed I noticed her grandson, Mason, wasn't feeling well. I thought, this sweet Warrior of Down's Syndrome should be celebrated! And I nominated him for a painting. He loves Curious George and according to his painting, Curious George loves him too. To have a chance to show Mason that his community supports him, and his uniquenesses, to give him presents and a painting to honor his fight; this is why we do this, it's my most humbling honor to give him his Warrior Moment. He'll also receive all the gifts from all our sponsors and this, at a time when people are so worried about being generous that they run out of the things they give away. Justin created a very interesting spiritual experience for us, here's the story... Justin, Katy and Nadir's son, just two-years-old, passed away earlier this year fighting Childhood Cancer. Justin is the same age as our son, Silas; I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child. The question, 'what if' haunts me often; the last year of our lives spent painting for Warriors of many diagnosis, including Childhood Cancer. The appreciation for life will never lose its value here. Losing a baby, a son, and at such a young age, is devastating. To offer any support, anything to help you remember his Warrior attitude, and Warrior Ways, and to show you his story has great meaning, is why we do this. We love giving these gifts, having everyone learn about your son, and hope your painting embraces you every time you pass it by. It's a very special painting to us.. A one of a kind moment that helped finish his painting in a way that cannot be explained short of Justin's help. 🦋 I needed to paint a rainbow on Justin's painting. I placed the painting on an easel the night before. When I woke the next morning, the sun shown through the beveled glass of the art studio windows, creating prisms of rainbows everywhere, including on top of Justin's painting. I immediately pulled paint out and mimicked the exact color and placement the sun's beams created. I believe Justin, I'm heaven, heard my plan the night before, knowing this painting was for his patents and made the sun shine, creating a rainbow on his canvas. When you see your painting, we hope you also believe he helped. It's otherwise unexplainable. As if to say Warriors can only be people fighting battles that are curable. Enter Landon, Warrior Child of Cancer, eight years of chemo, surgery, radiation, and fighting. The Maui tree from her make a wish trip, a tree that caught her attention enough to have it be her Warrior Painting To Janet Roones Ramirez and Daughter Leanna This is the five foot painting for your daughter. It took 48 hours to complete and both my husband and I collaborated on it. Her tree from Maui sits against a sky, on the edge of a cliff, where a waterfall three feet in length falls. This represents not knowing what's at the edge of the cliff, but assuming it's beautiful, and falling over it. A lot like your daughters live list, not knowing what happens and not caring, because she has all of you to catch her fall, and to make it beautiful all the way down. When it was done, we hugged each other, in great appreciation our children don't have to be faced with these decisions on how to live, or how to end life, and what's best. To live with quality and knowing it will reduce her home on earth over having procedures done that extend her life but ruin the quality of it, was the bravest decision, one you let her make. You allowed her to take control of how her life continues. Warriors, you are... We are so honored to paint for you. Made for McKenna, Warrior of Teenage Cancer, my own made up term. Where most children can't appreciate the usual gifts given to the kids that fight cancer. Stuffed animals and arts and crafts are nice, but they're too old for that. Her dog, a Yorkie, a painting always there, one she can take with her on extended stays, one that I can have made to a pillow, a throw, or many other things she can actually use. A nomination who fell silent to her public story, something I don't require; I know her story, Emily knows it too, this woman is a Warrior. She won't take the title, most Warriors won't, they don't look at themselves as doing anything but trying to live another day. You are Warriors because you don't have to fight, you can give up-you can surrender both spiritually and medically, but you can't. Meet a Warrior of Cancer, fighting through work every day, fighting through making relationships work, fighting through the check out line, paying bills, and in prayer; likely everything she does is for others. I know your story, I know your status, and you're a Warrior through and through, living above your diagnosis, as if you've forgotten you have an excuse to lay down, let others take the brunt of responsibility for your happiness. I know your story. Your painting is my perception of death and life, of life overcoming what we are all underneath; just bones.
