I work at a place where I put products in boxes to be shipped out, right. Well I use a tablet at work and the amount of times per day I see the word "package" and then think "hehe pakidge" as I'm scanning said package lines up exactly with how much Tumblr has affected my brain
Me, over the radio: Hey folks, the driver is here for a hotshot, they are backing into Door 9, please load them up, paperwork is at the dispatch window.
Evening floor supervisor, immediately after: Do they have a van or a deck? 'Cause they are picking up skids of drums.
A the office mate: *mad cackling* Oh. My. God! *more cackling*
Me: *obvious disbelief* They have a van. They are backing into Door 9.
For the uninitiated, you NEVER load a deck from dock level. Ever. Way too easy to drive off the edge of the deck.
“The more you look at Amazon the more you realize that it’s convenience comes with a real cost. Just think about it. We used to have to drive to stores to buy things, not those things are brought directly to us and they’re somehow cheaper. That didn’t just happen with a clever algorithm. It happened by creating a system that squeezes the people lowest on the ladder hard. And all the while the man behind Amazon is now worth $118,000,000,000, more than anyone else in the world.”
It's official
I'm switching jobs. I took the one that wants me to run a department. I'm excited, and a little nervous. I'm going part time at the other job (the one I've been at for 6 years). I wound up getting more money to go part time! (I'm on a shift that offers differential for the hours I work, which is over my base rate!
Winning!!!

So I guess it takes me snapping at work to get anywhere. I asked for a specific tool so I could do the job they asked me to do this week. Guess, what, I still don’t have it. So when someone asked why I was taking so long and doing it the hard way, I lost it. Screaming swearing, and then a high pitched, wordless screech. Half the warehouse heard me. Big boss found out and how many fucks do I give? Not a one. You assholes do your jobs so the rest of us can do ours!
Fuck you woooork. Don't tell us to have family call the main office for emergencies (we're not supposed to have cell phones in the warehouse) then when my mother calls for me because my sister has been rushed to a hospital, but we don't know which one, tell her 'oh well they can't take personal calls at work'. For fucking serious?! Thank god I answered my cell when she called me!!! Now off to the hospital for my sister.
Eventful day
What a day. Someone fell in the aisle and hit their head. Vomiting, dizzy. Someone decided to take charge who's not a company trained first responder. (She likes to be in everyone's business). 911 was called, and she was taken to the nearest hospital. I waited outside to show them where to go. Overall, a great team effort from everyone at my work. We're still waiting to hear how she's doing. This is why not having ac in the summer sucks!!
