@wandersung ——— Sarah and Christine commiserating over their 'yoinky boyfriends' ...we need it
OH, WHAT LOVELY THINGS she could share ! for her darkest shadow was yet the brightest star in her sky, & she so adored to share with those willing to hear her speak of her elegant husband. the man at her side, taller than the very keystones that decorated the brocade archways of the theatre. twice as illustrious, his very presence a spell. sarah was proud upon his arm; gazing not with envy at those who were enchanted by him, but with a boastful smile.
though absent, his presence remained, leaving the mystery for the woman to call her own. with lips drawn in a smile, the subtle curves of her red dress swaying with her step, she perused the dressing room for her own: quiant ! it had all the qualities of a classic beauty, befitting of the young starlet. sarah’s gaze passed over the mirror for but a moment, before she quickly sat herself, crossing palms in her lap & whispering in silken, sweet, accented tongue.
❝ ——— you have taken notice of my husband. ❞ clever girl loves best to share the word in the world for all to hear, it so tickles her heart. her eyes gleam in wonder as she speaks, gazing upon the soprano, hoping to draw from her what she so desires to hear: of how handsome & drawing the count is, how he commands a room. far rude to draw from the glory of the songstress ! for her attentions were not upon her performance, but on the face of her lover as he listened, sitting nearer. oh, for the nostalgia of the song they had once shared...
❝ forgive me that he cannot join us. he is so often shy in the presence of beautiful, young women. ❞ a tittering giggle; almost a sickening peal of laughter. ❝ but a sight like you surely must already be claimed by some lover. tell me: who has stolen the lovely heart of our fair siren, yes ? ❞
