My little car all packed to the brim before we left! We ran around like crazy trying to get everything together. Only hit the road 2 hours late, pretty impressed that it wasn't more
Day one: June 2, 2012. When we very first pulled onto west I44. We were crazy with excitement when we finally pulled out and hit the road. Me and Elijah have been waiting a long time to do this. Heading west we first stopped in Springfield MO to eat chipotle (It had been months since I got to enjoy a chipotle burrito) and stop by Bass Pro to admire all the outdoor goods. After window shopping we hit the road again. We made it until outside Oklahoma City before we declared it "Crap-lahoma". Seriously it never ended, just a whole lot of hot nothing. $12 in toll booth charges and a small part of our sanity later we hit Texas. Man I was so happy to see the lone-star state! Finally after 12 hours on the road we pulled over in Amarillo TX. Amarillo is a nice place, it was dark and storming when we got there put we pulled over to eat at olive garden to have free salad and bread sticks and spilt some pasta. A little part of our pasta wasn't cooked right, no big deal but we took a free desert (white chocolate raspberry cheesecake, yum). When the bill came the manager had taken off our pasta. It was such an unnecessary nice thing to do :) Well the fun ended there we drove (by "we" I mean Elijah) all night until just outside of Albuquerque New Mexico, where we pulled over at a rest stop and it a few hours of sleep.
