Cast diary from Jacob Anderson [s1e5]: āEpisode 5, also known as āthe raccoon episodeā. There is a scene-stealing raccoon. I was going to say you might notice- you will definitely notice her. She is adorable and she put in such a brilliant performance... We were told, like, under no circumstances should you look at the raccoon. Under no circumstances do you approach the raccoon. She basically ran this set for that entire scene. It was that kind of vibe. She was cool. Sheās a consummate professional.ā

its interesting to compare vampires from across different sourcesā¦ for example, when they smoke cigarettes in AMCās IWTV i can immediately say that while the nicotine may not affect them, the process is medatative. But Spike from BtVS? he just likes to think that it makes him look cool

Louis brings home stale baguettes to lure pigeons to the apartment window so he can eat them (the birds not the bread). its representative of his detachment from the other vampires, who bond during pack hunts. (Armand also chastises him for leaving the front door open when Louis states that opening the window and door lets the breeze come through the house.) plus Armand's ''what light through yonder window breaks?''
I Don't Like Windows When They're Closed the "plot" of it is that a nanny busy trying to please the mother cant keep the kid safe. Little Birdie Lou falls out the window. I've got two things here. 1: the coven wrote a fable where someone doesnt realize that their freedom is actually dangerous. Seeing Louis, its difficult for them to be reminded of possibilities outside their group, so they depict his liberty as childish and dangerous. They are trying to serve the head of the house (Armand) and want to show the consequences of people who dont follow their rules. Claudia is the one being punished for Louis' refusal to join. 2: If or how the coven knows this is up to yall, but its totally worth noting that Lestat dropped Louis after their big fight. the injury from that hidden power is one of the reasons Louis is so wary of the other vamps. (there is also flying the first time they see the coven perform)
also, in the 70s when Armand shows up the first thing he does is rip the newspaper off the window, accosting louis for losing track of time. he later burns himself (intentionally) and Armand has to go out and save him.
