Walter O'Brien Piano Headcanon

I wasn't sure what theme this would fall under; so, I chose free day for this one. I have a headcanon that Walter played classical piano (mostly Beethoven but also Mozart, Bach, etc.) as a child. At first, he did it because his mother wanted him to learn to play piano, but after a while he began to play as a way to vent his feelings. Although he never understood why he did it, Megan figured it out and asked him to play for her when she knew he was upset or stressed. He did so to make her happy, and eventually, Megan could tell how he was feeling by the way in which he played a song (softly, aggressively, etc.). He would play at odd hours, and it drove his parents crazy. Since Megan understood, whenever he would get into trouble, Megan would lie and say that she asked him to play for her. He stopped playing after he moved away from home. He bought the piano in the garage intending to start again, but he never had time to play, but... Whenever he misses Megan, he goes downstairs when he knows everyone is gone and plays her favorite song.

There are so many good ones, but these from 2.17 Adaptation were hilarious. They all just express clear annoyance and confusion - from his session with Toby and the hand-puppet mirroring exercise to his face when Toby and Happy stood up to Walter about their relationship. Eyes Gabel does a good job with this character because I authentically believe that the shade is real! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Walter O’Brien Appreciation Week: Day 5 Favorite Relationship: Walter x Happy

These two geniuses are more similar to one another in EQ mannerisms than they are to the rest of the team. Surprisingly, they do not have a lot of EQ scenes together on the show (then again, that is no surprise), but you know that a special bond exists between these two characters. Walter respects Happy for her mechanical skills and considers her a great asset to the team. Happy also respects Walter for his mind and his all-encompassing problem-solving skills during missions. Happy has saved Walter from the recesses of his mind and he is very appreciative even though it is difficult for him to emote that, especially when his ego dominates. What I love most about their relationship is that they are very direct when giving each other advice. And this is portrayed in a special way that shows that EQ is present even though the manner of discussion is cerebral.
