One time, a woman came into my store to buy some extra strong wallflowers because she was a smoker and her boss was coming over. You could tell she was a smoker because you could smell it on her when she walked in with her little dog. Despite being only 10 minutes until close, I helped her with a smile. My family used to smoke, so I know how embarrassing it can be to have others disgusted by it. She goes to check out, but I realized I gave her the regulars instead of the extra-strongs by mistake. So what do I do?
I ran over there with the right product, fished out her other wallflowers and told her that I had just found an even stronger batch! No no, they cost the same! Don't worry! And this woman, rather than be mad I reached into her basket and was a bit rude tbh she said I deserved a raise for being so helpful. And thinking about that now, I really appreciate her humility and patience with me.
