Flourishing is about balance and what better way to learn about balance than with geometry. Tomorrow, Tuesday, is a brilliant lecture on ‘The History of Flourishing’ to give you context for the magic of the workshop on Sunday which will teach you how rectangles and straight lines are the key to excellent flourishing. Tuesday 4th May, 7pm - 10pm GMT, £5, we look at the history of flourishes. How they developed in our Western Calligraphic Tradition and really WHAT constitutes a flourish. We start in the 2nd century CE and come up to the present day. Sunday 9th May, 1pm to 630pm GMT, £45, I will teach you my innovative Geometric Approach to Flourishing. I have taught this a few times and the reaction is always one of shock in how I simplify learning to execute a well balanced flourish but also in teaching you how to look at what you have done and correct it.
