Babafelt by Charlotte Kingsnorth

Babafelt is an easy chair evolved from the FeltUp chair.

Babafelt is made from thick natural wool felt. The felt sheet is cut and folded to make a cocoon-like space in which to sit, which responds to the occupants’ movements and hugs them as they lean back.

The wooden frame is made by traditional British craftsman who masterfully shape the walnut timber. The thick walnut legs are steam bent to follow the natural curve of the felt.

Felt is a high tech ecological material which comes from a low tech renewable source. The felt is made from high quality wool fibres which are mechanically pressed using heat, moisture and pressure. The outcome is long lasting, resistant against fire and moisture and acts as a natural insulator to noise.  

The chair comes with a large round cushion. Baba Felt chair is now available to purchase directly from the studio.
