"AERIA" by Aeristo
A leather wallcovering concept designed specifically for aircraft cabins that integrates lighting directly within the material to create a calmer and more immersive passenger environment.
Developed around the relationship between light and material, AERIA rethinks how illumination is used inside an aircraft.
Wallcovering applied square by square and lacquered conveys the effect of leather-covered walls in the downstairs living room. Chippendale mirrors and rare Chippendale chests flank the custom-made mantel, which is decorated with a Chippendale chinoiserie clock, Colonial ivory orbs, and eighteenth-century ivory carved-and-turned candlesticks.

I am printing this on linen, 36β x 54β, then gluing it directly to the wall on my staircase, between two swaths of vintage wallpaper. Itβs based on an Audubon print, passenger pigeons. Up close, it will have an (intentional) exaggerated dot pattern, like a vintage billboard.
