During the springtime of 1986, Pit had already succumbed to boredom only months after Kid Icarus' release, and went out of his own universe to explore. (This "outer universe" was much safer back then -Less games, less problems.)
An eerie castle piqued his interest. He found the atmosphere to be quite dark, and the enemies quite creepy! He accidentally caught the attention of one of the monsters and panicked! Finding nowhere to hide, he dove through a window. Seconds later, he heard a voice....
"Have I messed up already? Have I died?" Pit turned to see a muscular man, with long blonde hair, lifting himself up and holding his head.
 "Huh?" Pit was surprised. This must not have been an enemy -possibly the hero of this universe!
"A-are you okay?" Pit asked.
 "You... are an angel!" The man exclaimed.
 "Uh....... yeah.......?" Pit was confused.
"Have I failed, angel?" The man grabbed his shoulders.
"Uhh..." Pit looked around. "I dunno. It looks like you still have some life left."
The man sighed, taking a moment to regain his composure. "I'm sorry if I frightened you in any way. My name is Simon Belmont."
Pit smiled, "I'm Pit!"
They spent a while getting to know each other before parting their ways. Since then, Pit had made more visits to Simon's world.
Fast forward to late winter, the following year: Pit had arranged a special "vacation" with Simon. They planned on going to another universe. They found themselves in a place they were very unfamiliar with! Large city-like landscapes stretched out before them, traversed by small creatures that spit electricity when hit. A loud boom was heard in the distance accompanied by flashing lights! Pit and Simon rushed over to check it out! They got closer and closer to the impact site, hearing a bunch of sounds like static, beeping, and loud clicks, as if someone was loading something into a weapon. In his excitement, Pit tripped a little, which caused the aforementioned sounds to cease! After a long pause, they heard nothing but a single pair of footsteps. It sounded like heavy metal boots. Pit and Simon made their way from hiding spot to hiding spot, hoping that they could get a better look at this thing before it could see them!
After running around for several minutes, they managed to see something in the shadows -a fairly tiny humanoid figure! Both of them were frozen in shock, long enough for the creature to turn it's head -it's big blue eyes now being visible!
"I see it Simon!" Pit exclaimed in a hushed tone. "It's... actually kinda cute!", he observed, only to be followed by a powerful blast of what could only be described as pure energy!
The two rose to their feet and challenged the small opponent! After it grabbed Simon's whip, it yanked him close to it! However, upon seeing Simon, it stopped! Pit ran over and paused to see the creature watching Simon.
The duo began introducing each other to this strange character. He wasn't human, but he looked a lot like a small boy. The more they talked, the friendlier it started to get. The little guy introduced himself as "Mega Man" and they found out that he's a robot! Pit was filled with endless curiosities about Mega Man. He never met a robot before -at least not one quite as advanced as he is! Luckily, Mega Man was more than willing to become their friend, and was happy to share his strange, futuristic world with them!
Since then, these 3 heroes have been close friends and have achieved a bond between each other that no other game hero has ever shared with another.Â
