Oh no! One of your OCs is injured! Pick one and tell me what happened -- and then: Who did it to them?
It’s not unusual to find JD in the medical wing at Mordhaus, nursing some new bruise or sprain that looks just as ridiculous as the story that he tells to go along with it.
Typically, it’s something involving the boys. This time is no different— Nathan was the one who carried JD in. He damn near gave the nurse a heart attack, what with all of his shouting and demands that she “fix him!”
The nurse had a dry response prepared— something about how she wasn’t qualified to perform vasectomies. Her witty retort died on her tongue when she turned and caught sight of JD’s left arm hanging at an angle that it damn well should not have been able to.
She gets the story out of Nathan while dosing JD with some heavy duty painkillers. Apparently, Nathan thought it would be a good idea to challenge JD to an arm-wrestling contest. He didn’t mean to hurt JD, he’d just wanted to show off.
Try as they might, the Dethdoctors can’t get Nathan away from JD. It’s bad enough, having to fight off the rest of the band to keep them from turning JD’s hospital room into a fuckin circus. But trying to kick Nathan out is a straight up fool's errand. JD himself says as much, before grumbling that Nathan can stay so long as he behaves himself and gives JD space when the nurses tell him to.
It’s rare to hear Nathan apologize. It’s even rarer to see him tear up while he’s trying to. JD’s doing his best to juggle managing his own pain with Nathan’s guilt. Seeing Nathan cry hurts JD worse than that goddamn broken arm.
Charles arrives back at Mordhaus after a red-eye flight, ready to tear Nathan a new one for getting JD hurt. Any intent to shout goes out the window when he walks in and finds Nathan fast asleep in the bedside chair, with his head laying in JD’s lap. JD’s still awake, idly carding his good hand through Nathan’s hair and watching reruns of Golden Girls.
When JD tiredly tells Charles not to wake Nathan up, Charles elects to listen.
