Errrrrrrrrrrm, well I think you kind of have to give yourself  meaning, there's the bullshit cliché that we're all here just to keep reproducing, which would make us the most useless species ever. But we can be more complex than that, or less if that's how you want to live.

It's just up to you during your life time to find something you believe in, that might be something sciencey, or maybe you feel like your purpose is to provoke thoughts through different art forms.

some people find that they have more than one meaning to their life. Their adult life could be spent doing art, science, law, whatever but then the older they get they might realise they actually have more to do, so they create a new meaning for themselves. 

Some people will be leaders, others will be followers and then you'll have some people who are loners and they're all cool. There will be some people who never figure out their meaning, and that's sad. But usually the most fun is had in the journey not the ending so take that however I guess.
