This TN Family Supports Planned Parenthood
Facebook album here
Thanks so much to everyone who came out for our event on Saturday! We had an absolutely beautiful day and our marching group was loud and proud! Thanks everyone for your support! We will be posting photos from Boston later today, and I'll share some photos from the other Walk For Choice marches too!
βIt started when Congress cut funding to Planned Parenthood and is in direct response to HR 3,β Lewis tells me. βIt is not organized by Planned Parenthood, but by us who realize that we have a right to choose and itβs not just to choose abortion,β She says. βItβs birth control, and contraceptives, and family planning, itβs unnecessary C-sections, etc. and if you get rid of Planned Parenthood, you get rid of our access to these things,β Carter adds. βIt is a peaceful protest,β says Carter. βWe plan to do it often, until we get our reproductive rights back.β What we really need, she added, βare people to come and speak, we have had three marches already but we canβt seem to get people that want to talk about personal feelings or stories on the subject.β To add your voice to the cause, contact them on Facebook at facebook.com/walkforchoiceutah. For more information on being involved with walk for choice, visit walkforchoice.org. The walk for choice is on Saturday, May 21, at 2:30 p.m. and we will start at the State Capitol and march down State Street to the Salt Lake City-County Building. I will see you there.
